In The Broken Column (1944), Frida Kahlo visualises her own physical and psychological suffering bydepicting her upper body.Her body is forced into a metal corset and covered in agonising nails thatextend down her weakened right leg, which was affected by polio she contracted as a child.ThedamagedancientGreekcolumnrepresentsKahlo'sspine, whichwasbadlyinjuredina1925accident, leavingherbedriddenformuchofherlife.
From Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August, the FERRA Festival will bring techno to our entire open-air site.
However, the water tower with the permanent exhibition ‘MOTION POWERS HISTORY’, the pump house with the sound installation by Emeka Ogboh, and the blower and compressor hall with the major exhibition ‘X-RAY’ will remain open throughout at a reduced price of 9 euros.
