Alix Marie’s immersive installation Styx evokes both the titular ancient Greek goddess and her embodiment – the underworld river that marks the boundary to the realm of the dead. Through the transparent materiality of the work and the cyanotypes depicting X-ray images, visitors find themselves drawn into a reflection on life and death, outside and inside.
